Adoption baby shower!!

What a send-off! Weeks before we knew our date to travel to pick up our son, my friends from Precepts Bible Study planned a baby shower for me! Megan, Denise and Marianne hosted it for us in Denise's lovely home. Every guest gifted us with a prepared freezer meal; isn't that brilliant?!

I've been studying Scripture with these women for a few years. Together we've delved into Kay Arthur's four Precepts studies on Revelation as well as her study of Covenants. (All excellent!!) Right now I'm finishing the Ruth Precepts study I began this Summer.

The Lord has taught me so much through this inductive method of Bible study. His Word is alive with truth and grace and mercy!!!  The hunger to know His precepts and live them out continues to grow... I'm thankful to Marianne for leading us and all of these beautiful women for sharpening my understanding of the Word!

Meg made such cute passport shower invitations! And we'll enjoy saving travel photos in this globe album!!

Liberty & Eden helped me watercolor bookmarks to use as thank - yous for the guests.  In addition to favorite Bible verses, one of my favorite quotes we included was by C.T. Studd: "Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last!"

Marianne shared a sweet blessing by reminding us that "adoption is in our DNA!" Ephesians 1:5, Romans 8:9, Galatians 4:5-7 and other passages display the beauty of our adoption as sons and daughters of God!

There were some tear-filled moments as I shared the meaning behind the name we choose for this precious child (more on that,  later!) and Marianne reflected on the difficult season we went through as a couple. We really wrestled with the evil and hurt we see around us in the world... and out of that pain, we have a renewed passion to serve God and be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever He leads us!

The girls gifted me with this beautiful Scripture artwork Marianne painted to commemorate this adoption. One of my favorite Bible verses... we used this one on the birth announcements for our eldest child,  Isaac. So special & meaningful to revisit the passage for this son, also!!

A beautifully decorated adoption baby shower! Handmade map airplane banners and a shirt made by my friend Meg for our little one! We feel so loved and prayed for... perfect way to launch our trip!

My sweet girls enjoyed their special table! They look ready to be big sisters!!!

Thank you,  sweet sisters in Christ, for being loving faithful friends to me and my entire family! You have been a source of encouragement, prayer support. It has been such a blessing to share our joys and challenges of international adoption with you.  God gifted me with each one of you!

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." -Philippians 1:3-5
