“Pure and faultless religion is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
James 1:27
We're excited to announce we've chosen a widow to serve through our Both Hands project!
We are not all called to adopt, but we can all play a role in serving widows and orphans. Both Hands “serves widows, orphans and adoptive families.” Both Hands partners with Lifesong for Orphans whose mission is “to bring joy and purpose to orphans.”
Both Hands helps families raise funds for their adoptions while serving a widow through home improvement projects. The project works in the same way as a marathon or golf tournament. The only difference is, instead of playing, we’ll be working on a widow’s home! We think that’s pretty cool!
On October 22nd, we will be leading a team of volunteers in serving a widow in need of home repairs. Our team is raising sponsorship for our day of service. 100% of the funds received will help an orphan to become adopted into a loving forever family.
The supplies used to work on the widow’s home are donated. The nonprofit has been blessed with a partner that underwrites all US administrative costs. That means 100% of your donation will go towards our adoption expenses.
The widow benefits, an orphan is brought closer to home, and a group of volunteers spend the day serving others.
Judy Carlson has been
widowed since her beloved husband passed away in 1990. They were married for 23
years. Judy attends Grace Church in Normal. Today, her home is in need of some
TLC and we feel honored to be able to bless her through this Both Hands
project!
Our project is
October 22, and we would love to get your donation before then. However, donations
to our adoption fundraising account will remain open until we have
raised all the funds needed to complete our adoption! There are 153 million orphans…
with your help, there will be one less.
Thank you so much for your support!
